"CRP is the best wildlife tool we've had for both game and non-game animals alike," said Kevin Pollard, agricultural producer in Gage County, Nebraska.
"Since we've enrolled ground into CRP, we've almost completely stopped the soil erosion on the farm. It's really easy to notice along the creeks and see that the water is more clean."
Kevin has also found CRP to be a great program to retire marginal farm ground from production. "That ground is prone to erosion and is less productive anyway," he observed. By enrolling the most erosive land in CRP, Kevin can concentrate on farming the productive land while also enjoying the benefits of excellent wildlife habitat.
Scott Luedtke, District Biologist for the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission, and Kevin Pollard discuss wildlife benefits achieved since Kevin diversified the plant species on his CRP contract acreage.
