Trevor Kerr chosen as the FSA County Executive Director for the Crawford County Office

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- February 21, 2013 - State Executive Director for Ohio's Farm Service Agency (FSA), Steve Maurer, would like to announce that Trevor Kerr has been selected as the County Executive Director (CED) for the Crawford County FSA office effective December 17, 2012.

Trevor grew up on a farm in southern Knox County, which included cattle, hogs, row crops, hay and the custom farming operation. Growing up Trevor was active in 4-H at the Hartford fair in Licking County. Trevor graduated from Ohio University (OU) in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies. While in school, Trevor worked in a variety of capacities at the Park National Bank Corporation including as a Proof Editor, Correction Clerk and then as the Assistant Supervisor in the Item Processing Department for the Park National Bank Corporation. As Assistant Supervisor, Trevor oversaw the daily balancing and currency exchange with the Federal Reserve and other local financial institutions. While attending OU, Trevor also worked at Sharp Arabian in Zanesville, Ohio.

After graduation, working briefly in the banking industry, Trevor began his career with the Knox County FSA as a temporary Program Technician. He was responsible for multiple program areas including; the Crop Disaster Program (CDP), Loan Deficiency Payments (LDPs) and the Common Land Unit (CLU) data layer for Knox County FSA office. After certifying Knox County's CLU data layer, Trevor assisted 15 other county offices around Ohio to certify their CLU data layer, including Crawford County.

In 2005, Trevor joined the Preble County FSA as a permanent Program Technician. He was accountable for; Farm Records, Payment Limitation, GIS, CDP, Compliance, Tobacco and Records Retention. Having a deep rooted upbringing in agriculture Trevor continued to be open to opportunities for advancement within USDA.

In 2008, Trevor was selected into the County Operations Trainee (COT) program for Iowa and traveled throughout the state to study FSA programs and learn county office operations. During the COT training program, he was stationed at the Iowa FSA State office assisting the Conservation Compliance section on various projects. After completing the formal COT training program in December of 2008, he accepted the position in Sioux County, Iowa to serve as CED.

Trevor made the difficult decision leaving Sioux County by accepting a chance opportunity to return to Crawford County as CED. He is excited to have returned and looks forward to the opportunity to serve the producers in Crawford County. Currently, he resides in Upper Sandusky and looks forward to getting involved in the family farming operation again.
