COLUMBUS, OHIO -- March 7, 2013 - State Executive Director for Ohio's Farm Service Agency (FSA), Steve Maurer, would like to announce that Charlotte Schmachtenberger has been selected as the County Executive Director (CED) for the Wyandot County FSA office. Charlotte will begin her new duties on March 11, 2013.
Following graduation from high school in 1979, Charlotte continued to work on her family farm raising beef and dairy cattle. She was responsible for daily milkings, maintaining the breeding and birth records and drying off the dairy cows between lactations until 1982. In 1980, Charlotte began to work for Thorne’s Super Duper Supermarket as a Deli Clerk.
Charlotte began to work for FSA in 1990, as a Program Technician for Carroll County. She was responsible for multiple program areas including; Compliance, Geographic Information System (GIS), Common Programs, Disaster Programs, Non-Insured Assistance Program, Direct and Counter-cyclical Programs (DCP) and Average Crop Revenue Election Program (ACRE), and Payment Eligibility.
In 2011, Charlotte was selected into the County Operations Trainee (COT) program for Ohio. She traveled throughout the state to study FSA programs and learn county office operations. After completing the training program, she accepted the position as CED in Clermont County. Recently, she was chosen by the Wyandot county committee to serve as the CED.
Charlotte has three daughters. Sarah has completed her Bachelor’s degree in agriculture at Wilmington College. Shelly has completed her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from St. Francis University in Loretta, PA. Sally is currently a senior obtaining an accounting degree at Asbury University at Wilmore, KY.
