Wildlife Food Plots of small grains such as millet, oats, and sorghum are planted in Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) tracts to provide high energy food sources for game birds and big game. In addition to the food values they provide, CRP Wildlife Food Plots provide cover and protection for wildlife.
Planted Wildlife Food Plots can vary in size from one to five acres per site. Wildlife Food Plot seed is provided by local Pheasants Forever chapters and planted by the CRP participant.
CRP Wildlife Food Plots provide food, structure, and hiding and thermal cover for wildlife.
