Development Process

QC Preparation

The artifacts that come out of each phase may be submitted for a QC Review. This page defines the process of submittal.

Delivery

Artifacts should be delivered to the Quality Control Review Process (QCRP) Team through the group e-mail ug-mokansasc2-SDLC-QC-Review-Team. The QCRP Team will acknowledge the receipt of the information and provide the Development Team with an initial assessment. The initial assessment is done before starting the review process to make sure that the information submitted is sufficient and relevant.

Format

The developer should provide access to soft copies of the artifacts in a structured format (e.g., a single .ZIP file) or provide access to the appropriate repository.

If artifacts are available in an online repository, the developer should provide the QCRP Team with access to the artifact repository during the initial review meeting.

General Characteristics Reviewed

The QCRP Team shall evaluate each individual artifact, as well as the complete set of artifacts, to ensure they exhibit the following basic characteristics:

  • Completeness - All required artifacts should be complete.

  • Consistency - Information presented in the artifacts remains consistent, both within individual artifacts and across the entire set of deliverables. Artifacts should not contradict each another.

  • Clarity - The language used in the models and other artifacts should be understandable and unambiguous.

  • Traceability - Traceability among all artifacts should be clearly identifiable and maintained throughout the entire development life cycle.

  • Standard - Where UML(R) notation appears in models and other artifacts, that notation should be used in full compliance with prevailing UML(R) standards.

For more information, refer to the following list of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP's)*:

*Efforts are currently under way to refactor the QAP's so they will more closely align with the current SDLC process.
