Candy Thompson,
Associate Administrator for Operations and Management

Candy Thompson was selected to serve as the Associate Administrator for Operations and Management in December 2012. In this position, Thompson is responsible for overseeing the Farm Service Agency’s budget, finance, administrative, management and internal control functions.

 
Thompson previously served as the Director of the Production, Emergencies, and Compliance Division where she administered commodity production and disaster programs, common provisions and payment limitations, and payment eligibility for commodity and conservation programs.

 
She also worked as Director of the Farm Service Agency Price Support Division from January 2008 until June 2009, managing the marketing assistance loan and loan deficiency payment programs for all program commodities. Thompson began her career with FSA 30 years ago in the Kansas City, Mo., office and has served in various other positions.

 
A native of Saint Joseph, Mo., she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. In August 2008, she graduated from American University’s Public Policy certificate program.

 
Thompson resides in Alexandria, Va., with her husband and son.
