Commodity Operations
Bulk Commodities

The Kansas City Commodity Office purchases bulk commodities, such as grains and rices.

The Master Solicitation for Commodity Procurements (MSCP) is used for the solicitation of bids and award of contracts for various commodities under domestic and foreign food assistance programs administered by the Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO). The MSCP was effective for solicitations issued after Sep 1, 2005.

Commodity Requirements

KCCO will periodically issue invitations for bids (IFB) requesting particular commodities being procured. Following is a list of products with a link to the requirements for each commodity.

Bidders are required to read the Master Solicitation for Commodity Procurements (MSCP), IFB, and USDA Commodity Requirements.

The table of contents in the requirements documents can be used to navigate the documents.

Bulk grains are subject to the standards set forth in the "Official United States Standards for Grain" which are available at the GIPSA web site.

Solicitation Information

Current bulk commodities Invitations are posted to invite approved vendors to make offers on various bulk commodities. This page also includes purchase contract awards (PCAs). PCAs list the commodities purchased for each invitation issued.

If you sign up for the Procurement Bulk Grain and Procurement Grain BNT E-mail subscriptions, you will automatically be notified of release information for bulk commodities and bags and twine.
