FSA County Committees – Your Participation Makes the Difference

Husband:  	Door opens and shuts) Hi Honey.

Wife: 	(On the phone) Ok, he just walked in. I’ll let him know.
Husband: Who was that?

Wife: 	That was Willis Carver, you know…he owns Carver Farms a few miles down the hill.

Husband: 	Oh yeah, he’s a nice young  fella. What did he want?

Wife: 	Well, he sits on the Farm Service Agency county committee and he remembers that you attended a few of their meetings and gave some really good input. So he wanted to know if he could nominate you to sit on the committee.

Husband: 	Oh he did, did he? Well, you just call him back and tell him it’s too late.

Wife: 	Too late?  It’s not too late. He said the nomination period doesn’t close until August 1.
Husband: 	I know. But he can’t nominate me because I picked up an application from the FSA county office and nominated myself (he says with a chuckle).

(Both husband and wife share a laugh)

Wife: 	Well, it’s a good thing you did. I really think you can make a difference.
