Bill: 	Oh, hi Lisa.  I was reading online that the Farm Service Agency is accepting nominations for county committee members and you were the first person to come to mind.

Lisa: 	Oh, I don’t think so Bill. In fact, I’m on my way to the county office right now to apply for an emergency loan because I lost 200 acres of soybeans on my farm and last month I was there applying for the conservation reserve program.  It seems like I’m always at FSA for something.  

Bill: 	That’s exactly why you would make a great candidate. Farmers who serve on county committees help make the decisions needed to administer FSA programs in their counties.  If  FSA is your second home, then you should have a say in how the programs serve local producers, like yourself.

Lisa:	I never thought of it that way. Maybe I’ll seriously think about that.  When does the nomination period begin? 

Bill:	The nomination period opens June 15 and runs through August 1. Why don’t you pick up an application?

Lisa:	I think I will Bill. Maybe I’ll actually be able to make a difference.
