* Emergency Commodity Assistance Program: County FSA offices across South Dakota are now accepting applications for the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP), a program designed to help producers mitigate the impacts of rising input costs and declining commodity prices. Learn more at this link. Pre-filled applications were mailed to producers who submitted acreage reports to FSA for 2024 eligible ECAP commodities. These applications must be signed and returned to FSA. Visit the ECAP information page, under How To Apply, for other ways to apply for this assistance. The application window is open through Aug. 15, 2025.
* Spring Acreage Certification Under Way: South Dakota FSA County Offices are preparing for spring acreage certification. Farmers can help County Offices with this process by keeping track of what is planted, where it is planted, and when it is planted, as this information is critical for the completion of acreage certification paperwork. Please communicate with your County Office regarding their certification process for 2025.South Dakota FSA Spotlights
