WELCOME to the Vermont Farm Service Agency Web Page!

The Vermont FSA State Office is located in Colchester. There are nine county offices located in USDA Service Centers around the state. The nine offices are located in Brattleboro, Middlebury, Morrisville, Newport, Rutland, St. Albans, St. Johnsbury, Williston and White River Junction. We have approximately 50 employees statewide dedicated to assisting the roughly 7,000 farms in the state and helping to provide economic stability for Vermont producers. FSA serves agriculture by providing federal program benefits such as annual operating loans and land purchases, commodity price supports, disaster relief, and conservation.

Hurricane Irene Devastation

Farmers who have sustained damage form tropical storm Irene should contact the USDA Farm Service Agency nearest them. To locate your local office, click here:

Or contact the USDA state office in Colchester at 658-2803 or 951-6795.

USDA staff members are currently conducting damage assessments on farms in partnership with the State of Vermont to determine what type of assistance can be provided to farmers who have suffered damage to their land as well as crop and animal losses. Even if a farmer has not participated in USDA program before, they may be eligible for some types of disaster assistance.

While we have been in contact with many Vermont farmers, we want to reach everyone who has been affected by the storm.
