About
Cory Atkins was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Delaware in January 2026.
Atkins is a farm owner and operator who has been involved in agricultural advocacy at the local, state and national level. He has owned an agriculture seed sales business for 12 years and has a grain and vegetable operation that produces corn, soybeans, cover crops, lima beans, and peas. The farm also includes a produce market that offers strawberries, pumpkins and mixed fresh vegetables.
As a leader in the agriculture industry, Atkins served as past chair of the Delaware Soybean Board and as a director on the United Soybean Board. He has been involved in both organizations for nine years. In 2016, he received the Conservation Legacy Award from the American Soybean Association in recognition of consistent and effective conservation practices. Atkins also served as director of the Sussex County Farm Bureau. In 2023, he was honored to receive the Farm Bureau Young Farm Family Excellence in Agriculture award.
He earned an associate’s degree in production agriculture from Delaware Technical and Community College and is a graduate of LEADelaware, an agricultural leadership program.
Atkins is originally from and currently resides in Laurel, Delaware, with his wife and son. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and hunting.
