USDA Announces Availability of Low-Interest Physical Loss Loans for Producers Affected by Natural Disasters

Physical loss loans through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) can help producers repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to the success of the agricultural operation, including livestock losses. Examples of property commonly affected include essential farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit and nut bearing trees, and harvested or stored crops and hay.

Triggering Disaster #1 – N1881

Impacted Area: Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. 

Triggering Disaster: Flooding, excessive rain, and flash flooding that occurred on April 2 through April 15, 2025.

Application Deadline: May 18, 2026

Primary Counties Eligible: 

Kentucky: Anderson, Breckinridge, Campbell, Daviess, Franklin, Hancock, Hardin, Hopkins, Larue, McLean, Meade, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Owen and Woodford.

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

Kentucky:Bullitt, Butler, Caldwell, Carroll, Christian, Fayette, Gallatin, Grant, Grayson, Green, Hart, Henderson, Henry, Jefferson, Jessamine, Kenton, Logan, Marion, Mercer, Nelson, Pendleton, Scott, Shelby, Spencer, Taylor, Todd, Washington and Webster. 

Indiana:Crawford, Harrison, Perry, Spencer and Warrick.

Ohio:Clermont and Hamilton. 

Triggering Disaster #3 – N1885

Impacted Area: Kentucky, Ohio 

Triggering Disaster: Flooding, excessive rain, a tornado, and high winds that occurred on April 2 through April 6, 2025. 

Application Deadline: May 18, 2026

Primary Counties Eligible: 

Kentucky: Pendleton.

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

Kentucky: Bracken, Campbell, Grant, Harrison, and Kenton.

Ohio: Clermont.
