Steve Dick was appointed by the Biden Administration to serve as the State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in South Dakota in March 2022.
Dick is a native of southeastern South Dakota. He operates a family farm in McCook County where he feeds cattle and grows corn and soybeans.
Since January 2005, Dick served as the Executive Director of Ag United for South Dakota, which promotes and advances farm and ranch families and rural communities across the state. He previously served on Senator Tom Daschle’s staff for 10 years in several positions including Agriculture Outreach Coordinator.
Dick has served on several boards including the East Dakota Water Development District, South Dakota Ag Foundation, East Dakota Education Foundation, Sioux Valley Energy Operation Round-Up, and the West Central School District.
Dick is a graduate of the University of South Dakota. He lives in Hartford, South Dakota, with his wife Jeanne and two children Truman and Eleanor. Dick enjoys feeding cattle, farming, and watching University of South Dakota sporting events.
