Federal Emergency Management Agency Designates 27 Counties in Missouri as Natural Disaster Areas Due to Severe Storms, Straight-Line Winds, Tornadoes, and Flooding

This Presidential disaster declaration allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.

Impacted Area: Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky and Tennessee

Triggering Disaster: Severe Storms, Straight-Line Winds, Tornadoes, and Flooding

Application Deadline: January 21, 2026

Primary Counties Eligible: 

• Missouri- Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Cooper, Douglas, Dunklin, Howell, Iron, Madison, Maries, Mississippi, New Madrid, Oregon, Ozark, Pemiscot, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard, Texas, Vernon, Wayne, and Webster

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

• Missouri- Barton, Bates, Boone, Cedar, Christian, Crawford, Dallas, Dent, Gasconade, Greene, Howard, Laclede, Miller, Moniteau, Morgan, Osage, Perry, Pettis, Phelps, Pulaski, St. Clair, St. Francois, Saline, Taney, Washington, and Wright.
