Minnesota USDA Farm Service Agency and the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association to Hold Webinar on Jan. 21

SAINT PAUL, MN, Jan. 7, 2021 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Minnesota is holding a public webinar with the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association on Jan. 21, 2021. Minnesota cattle producers and others involved in agriculture will have an opportunity to learn more about the USDA FSA programs available to support the cattle industry in the state.

The webinar will provide an overview of existing USDA programs best suited to serve cattle operations. Minnesota USDA staff will review livestock disaster programs designed to provide compensation for eligible livestock and forage losses including; the Livestock Indemnity Program, Livestock Forage Disaster Program, and the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees and Farm-Raised Fish Program. Programs designed to provide financing for storage, handling equipment, farm operations, and farm ownership will also be reviewed, including; Farm Loans, Marketing Assistance Loans, and Farm Storage Facility Loans. Minnesota USDA conservation staff will review options available under the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) that include; General CRP, Continuous CRP, CRP Grasslands as well as details on nonemergency haying and grazing provisions.
