Leonard Hubert was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the Ohio USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in November 2017.
Hubert is a native of Atmore, Alabama. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, along with a master’s degree in agribusiness and education, from Alabama A&M University.
He began his career as an agriculture education teacher and department head at the Downingtown Industrial and Agricultural School in Pennsylvania. He spent 15 years working for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the Bureau of Animal Industry, as chief of the Agriculture Marketing Service Division and in the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General.
Hubert relocated to Ohio to serve as the chief for the Division of Weights and Measures at the Ohio Department of Agriculture. He was appointed by Ohio Governor John Kasich as chairman of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. Hubert was formerly the president and CEO of L. Hubert & Associates, LLC.
He has received a number of awards throughout his career, including Ohio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Government Advocate of the Year and an outstanding leadership and service award from Ohio District Kiwanis.
