Hilary Maricle was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Nebraska in May 2025.

Prior to joining USDA, Maricle served as deputy director of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. She also previously served on the University of Nebraska Extension Leadership team and was an Associate Dean of Agriculture, Math, and Science at Northeast Community College. She was also an agriculture education instructor for middle school through collegiate students.

She previously served on the Nebraska Environmental Quality Council, American Farm Bureau Ag Promotion and Education Committee, American and Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation Boards and as a County Commissioner.

She is a member of Ag Builders of Nebraska, Nebraska Farm Bureau, and has completed the Nebraska LEAD (state agricultural leadership program) and American Farm Bureau Federation Partners in Advocacy Leadership programs.

Maricle earned a master’s degree in leadership education, with bachelor’s degrees in animal science and ag leadership, education, and communication from the University of Nebraska.

Maricle grew up in Spalding, Nebraska, where she spent a great deal of time on her grandparents’ farm, which allowed her to be active in 4-H and showing cattle. Maricle and her husband, Brian, are sixth generation farmers in Albion, Nebraska, where they raise beef cattle, corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and lambs with their five children and parents at Maricle Family Farms.
