Jon Wyss was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Washington in May 2025.

Wyss returns to FSA where he previously served as the state executive director for Washington State during President Trump’s first term.

Prior to his appointment in 2019, Wyss served as an analyst and government affairs director for Gebbers Farms, his wife’s century-old family company. He also served as the chief deputy assessor for Spokane County and worked within various U.S. Trustee Offices for 11 years.

Wyss is an active member of the agricultural community. He served as the north region director for the U.S. Apple Association for 10 years and as the vice president of USA Farmers Association. He has served in several capacities with Farm Bureau including as an advisor to the American Farm Bureau Labor Committee, as a board member on the Washington State Farm Bureau, and as president of the Okanogan County Farm Bureau. Wyss is also the chairman of the Okanogan County Long Term Recovery Group which was created in response to the devastating 2014 and 2015 wildfires in Okanogan County.

He attended Texas Technical University and Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas, where he studied business administration.

Wyss and his wife, Melanie, have three daughters and a son. He enjoys volunteering his time with the Brewster Boys and Girls Club where he serves as an advisor.
