Keith Richmond was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in West Virginia in August 2025.
Most recently Richmond served as an FSA county executive director for over 34 years. He started his career with FSA as a county operations trainee in 1991 and worked in several county offices after completing his training. Throughout his career, Richmond has received numerous awards from the National Association of State and County Office Employees and FSA for community service and lifetime achievements.
He is the former chief of the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 21 years. During his tenure, he was an instructor for the National Fire Academy and the West Virginia Fire Service Extension.
Richmond was raised on a diversified livestock operation and tobacco farm. His family currently operates a fourth-generation family farm that produces and markets hay in southern West Virginia. He is an FFA alumni and actively supports the organization by working with the students and staff to develop future agricultural leaders.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture from West Virginia University.
Richmond and his wife, Marsha, have four grown children and five grandchildren.
