About
Kevin Andrus was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Idaho in June 2025.
Prior to his appointment, Andrus served as a representative in the Idaho State Legislature for seven years, where he was chairman of the House Agriculture Committee for three years. Before his legislative career, Andrus was a loan officer with Ireland Bank, a business consultant with Idaho State University, and a horse trainer with Life Skills Recovery Ranch.
Andrus was raised on a sheep and cattle ranch outside of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. He has a deep love for agriculture and livestock production. He has worked in cattle and horse production for both his family’s ranch and his own operation. Through the years, he developed an appreciation for regenerative agriculture through innovative soil health practices.
Andrus and his wife Shelby have served on the Bannock County Farm Bureau board for the last four years. Through Farm Bureau, they were honored to earn the State Excellence Award that led them to compete at the national level.
Andrus earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Idaho State University and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho in agriculture business with a minor in animal science. He served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Panama where he became fluent in Spanish.
Andrus and Shelby have six children. They enjoy working as a family, playing sports, singing, riding horses and outdoor recreational activities.
