Steven Brown was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Indiana in May 2025. 

Brown returns to FSA where he previously served as the state executive director for Indiana during President Trump’s first term. Brown retired from FSA in 2015 with 32 years of service. Throughout his FSA career, he served as a county executive director in Porter and Carroll counties and worked in the Indiana FSA State Office. 

Brown grew up on his family farm in Pine Village, Indiana, and has been farming for over 40 years raising corn, soybeans, wheat and hogs. 

In 2023, Brown was inducted into the Carroll County Agricultural Hall of Fame. He has served on the Tippecanoe County Farm Bureau Board and actively volunteers through the local 4-H club, coaches youth baseball, and served on the Staff Parish Council at Christ United Methodist Church. 

He graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in marketing and distributive education. 

Brown and his wife, Debra, reside in Clarks Hill. They have been married for over 35 years and have two daughters, Corey and Kelsey, and three grandchildren. He is an avid Purdue University fan and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
