About
Don Jones was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Ohio in June 2025.
Prior to his appointment, Jones served as a representative in the Ohio State Legislature, where he was chairman of the House Agriculture Committee and also served on the Primary and Secondary Education, Finance and Natural Resource Committees.
Jones was an agricultural education teacher and FFA advisor for 23 years in Harrison County, Ohio. He served on the State FFA and Advisory Board during his tenure.
Jones, along with his twin brother Jon and parents John and Pauline, started the family farm equipment dealership in the fall of 1989. Today, the dealership provides several major full lines of equipment to producers in Ohio, western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia.
Community involvement has been a big part of Jones’ life. He has served as chairman of the Harrison Soil and Water Conservation District for nine years, president of the Agricultural Society/Fair Board for nine years, and on the South Central Power Foundation for 11 years. He has also been an emergency medical technician and volunteer fireman with the Deersville Community Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years.
He graduated from Ashland University with a bachelor’s degree in education of the handicapped, earned a certification in agribusiness from The Ohio State University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Salem University.
Jones and his wife, Amy, reside in Freeport, Ohio, on the family farm. They have been married for 29 years and have two daughters, Jalyn and Emi. Together, the family operates a cow/calf operation and markets hay. Jones and Amy are avid supporters of Ohio State football and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
