The Ohio Farm Service Agency provides federal program benefits to farmers and producers in terms of loans for operating and land purchase, commodity price supports, disaster relief, emergency assistance, conservation and other needed agriculture support efforts. Through these activities, FSA supports the USDA mission and helps ensure a healthful, stable, accessible and affordable food supply. Through these programs, FSA also fosters good land stewardship, which also help preserve our agricultural land for generations to come.

  • Upcoming Ohio Program Deadlines and Important Dates

    April 17 --- General CRP signup ends.
    April 17 --- Deadline to apply for the Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) Program.
    April 30 --- Supplemental Disaster Relief Program Stage 1 and Stage 2 Deadline.
    May 25 --- Memorial Day Holiday.  USDA Service Centers Closed.
    May 31 --- Deadline to apply for 2025 commodity loans and LDPs on feed grains, soybeans and pulse crops.

    Ongoing Reminders:

    Ongoing -- Submit an Application for a Farm Storage Facility Loan.
    Continuous - Submit an Application for FSA Farm Loans. 
    Continuous - Sign-up for GovDelivery Newsletters, Bulletins, and Ohio Press Releases (Subscribe to USDA Emails for Farmers | Farmers.gov)

    Continuous - Reports of Failed Acreage must be filed with the County Office before disposition of the crop.
    Continuous - Reports of Prevented Planting Acreage must be filed with the County Office no later than 15 calendar days after the final planting date for that county and producers of hand harvested crops and certain perishable crops must notify FSA within 72 hours of when a loss becomes apparent.
    Continuous - Contact FSA right away for notice of loss deadlines and disaster program requirements.

    Continuous - Inform the office of bank account changes.
    Continuous - Inform the office if you have picked up or dropped any farm(s).
    Continuous - Inform the office of farm and cropland boundary changes.
