William J. Graff was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Illinois in May 2025.

Graff returns to FSA where he previously served as the FSA state executive director for Illinois during President Trump’s first term. He also served in this role during the Bush Administration.

For more than 40 years, Graff has been a member of the Logan County Farm Bureau serving on the board of directors for 13 years and three years as county president. He previously served on the Illinois Beef Association board of directors and has also been a township supervisor, township trustee, and served as a school board member.

Graff has been affiliated with several organizations throughout his farming career including the American and Illinois Simmental Association, the American Maine-Anjou Association, American Chianina Association, and the American Angus Association. He is a former volunteer fireman in his community and is active in the Lincoln Christian Church.

He attended Illinois State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural industry management.

Graff has been a resident of Logan County, Illinois, his entire life. He grew up on a farm and started his own operation while in high school growing corn, soybeans and wheat.

Graff and his wife, Judi, currently own and operate a farm in Logan and Menard counties where they raise purebred cattle and grow corn, soybeans and hay.
