About
Rick Ebert was appointed by the Trump Administration to serve as the state executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Pennsylvania in June 2025.
Prior to his appointment, Ebert served the members of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau for 28 years, where he served as president for eight years and vice president for an additional 10 years. He also served as a board member for the American Farm Bureau Federation and has volunteered as a 4-H leader for over 45 years supporting youth in agriculture.
He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in dairy science with a minor in agricultural education.
As a native of Blairsville in Westmoreland County, Ebert returned to the family farm and was a dairy farmer for over 43 years. His sons recently joined the operation, now known as Ebert Family Farm, a diversified beef cattle, sheep, vegetable, corn, and hay operation. The farm implements several conservation practices including no-till, cover cropping, contour filter strips and rotational grazing.
Ebert has been married to his wife, Diane, for 43 years. They raised four children on the farm together and have six grandchildren. With the entire family involved in agriculture, they are looking forward to the future of the family farm.
