South Dakota FSA Highlights

Fall Acreage Certification: The acreage reporting deadline for 2027 crop year fall-seeded small grains is Nov. 16, 2026. Contact your local county FSA office to report your acres planted.
Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC): Producers can now change their election and enroll in ARC-County (ARC-CO) or PLC, which both provide crop-by-crop protection, or ARC-Individual (ARC-IC), which protects the entire farm. Deadline to make elections and enroll in 2026 Crop Year ARC and PLC Programs is Dec. 11, 2026. The election and enrollment period for 2027 ARC/PLC will open on Nov. 2, 2026 and run through March 15, 2027.
Dairy Margin Coverage Program (DMC): DMC is a voluntary risk management tool for dairy producers. Enrollment for 2027 is open now through Dec. 18, 2026. Detailed enrollment instructions and deadlines are available through the local FSA office.
